Getting Personal Data on the Xoom
You have data you want to put on your Xoom or at least want to access from it. You may have pictures, music, and video on a home computer, for instance. Perhaps you have documents and spreadsheets you'd like to work on while you're away from the office. You may have calendar data and contacts you'd like to incorporate as well; however, you may have already made that data available with the information offered in Chapter 2, “How Do I Use the Apps and Features Included with the Motorola Xoom?
Unfortunately, there's no one-size-fits-all solution for making available every type of data you have. So before you start randomly copying data (or trying to), take a look at a few of the ways you can accomplish the tasks of moving, copying, or otherwise making available data on your Xoom and decide which route you'd like to take first:
- Using the cloud—You can sync, export/import, and upload data to your Google account using various Google services, and that data will be available on your Xoom the next time you connect to the Internet from it. For example, you can upload pictures to Google's Picasa from your home computer, and those pictures will be available to you on your Xoom from the Gallery app. You can upload documents from your computer to Google Documents, and they'll be available from Xoom when you need them.
