So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Abstract
This chapter presents an introduction to the book along with an overview of the literature on reliability analysis of multistate systems. It contains an introduction to the topic of system component dependence by reference to two-state systems considering the dependencies of component failures. Two commonly used methods of load sharing, i.e., the equal load sharing and the local load sharing, are described and their extension to multistate systems is proposed. Combining these two dependency models, the mixed load-sharing dependency model is introduced.
