Conducting an After-Conflict Assessment
One of the fastest and best ways to develop your skills and confidence is to coach yourself using real-life lessons. In this way, you can make conflict work for you.
Unfortunately, many of us use what we did or didn’t do in real life to beat ourselves up. We think, “I should (or shouldn’t) have done that. Why didn’t (or did) I?” We regret every misstep and even blow them up out of proportion. If this is your habit, be careful. Self-criticism saps your energy. While it’s a benefit to admit mistakes, don’t make that the end game or beat yourself up over what you did, when it was often the best you could do at the time.
