I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
MapReduce programming idiom
In the FP world, MapReduce is considered as a programming idiom.

The process of mapping can be described as the application of a function or computation on each element of a sequence to produce a new sequence. Reduction gathers computed elements to produce the result of a process, algorithm, or a functional transformation.
In 2003, two Google engineers (Sanjay Ghemawat and Jeff Dean) published a paper about how the company used the MapReduce programming model to simplify their distributed programming tasks.
