About the Author
Carlos Andre Reis Pinheiro holds a D.Sc. in Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) where he focused on new methods and topologies of artificial neural networks to prevent fraud and detect voluntary bad debt in telecommunications. He holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF) and a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science, from UFF and Universidade Carioca.
Dr. Pinheiro has successfully accomplished a series of post‐Doctoral research terms over the past years. He started off with Optimization at Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA), Brazil, during 2006 and 2007, where he focused on genetic algorithms to perform survival analysis. During 2008 and 2009, he worked on Social Network Analysis at Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland, focusing on the use of network analysis to identify the viral effects in telecommunications business events. After a few years back in the industry, in 2012 he worked on Urban Mobility at Université de Savoie, France, focusing on the study of the population movements, particularly on the gravity and radiation models to predict massive displacements. Immediately after in 2013 and 2014, he worked on Human Mobility and Dynamic Social Network Analysis at KU Leuven, Belgium, focusing on the pattern recognition of the human mobility and how it is correlated to social networks. In 2014 and 2015, he worked on Human Mobility and Multimodal Traffic Behavior at Fundação Getúlio ...
