Abstract
A wide range of services are provided by the network sensor systems, which served as a pivotal tool in industries, agriculture, advancements in driving, and smart city-based systems. This chapter gives a review on the advancing technologies with applications and trends. In the beginning, it identifies the patterns that are shaping the environment, with a particular emphasis on the move from traditional technologies for sensing to networked devices offered by the prevalence of the Internet of Things (IoT). This shift brings in an age of networks of sensors that features ubiquitous connectivity, interconnectivity, and current information transfer.
