Knowledge Flow in Universities

In this chapter, a typical American university is chosen as a model for the quantitative analysis for the flow of knowledge in a reasonably well-defined academic setting. Knowledge flow assumes quantifiable patterns and much like the flow and retention of rain water over a given terrain of land; the quality (of teaching) and quantity (number of credit hours) of knowledge retained by students is estimated on a qualitative and quantitative basis.
