About the Authors

Charity Majors is the cofounder and CTO of honeycomb.io. She pioneered the concept of modern bbservability, drawing on her years of experience building and managing massive distributed systems at Parse (acquired by Facebook), Facebook, and Linden Lab building Second Life. She is the coauthor of Observability Engineering and Database Reliability Engineering (O’Reilly). She loves free speech, free software, and single malt scotch.

Liz Fong-Jones is a developer advocate, labor and ethics organizer, and site reliability engineer (SRE) with over two decades of experience. She is currently a technical fellow at honeycomb.io, and previously was an SRE working on products ranging from the Google Cloud Load Balancer to Google Flights. She lives in Vancouver, BC, with her wife Elly and partners, and in Sydney, NSW.

George Miranda is the VP of marketing at InsightFinder AI. His devtools career includes Honeycomb, PagerDuty, Chef Software, and others. Previously, he spent 15+ years building large-scale distributed systems in the finance and video game industries.

Austin Parker is director of AI strategy at Honeycomb, where he works on AI-driven observability products and explores how AI is reshaping the way engineers understand production systems. A cofounder of the OpenTelemetry project and member of its Governance Committee, Austin has spent over two decades building cloud native platforms and developer tooling.
