Rapid Prototyping of a WLAN System
In this section, the rapid prototype methodology presented in the previous section is applied to the design of an IEEE 802.11a baseband radio. Briefly, IEEE 802.11a is a standard for WLAN radios in the 5GHz unlicensed band [1]. The standard based on OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) uses 48 data subcarriers in a 20 MHz bandwidth to support data rates of 6 to 54 Mbps.
