Project Center
When it comes to keeping your life—and your work—on track, Entourage’s Project Center is possibly its most powerful tool. That’s surprising, given the fact that it’s also possibly Entourage’s least-utilized feature. Using Project Center, you can organize projects large and small—such as a national training workshop, a remodeling project, a vacation trip, or a fundraiser—and track all the documents, files, people, tasks, and emails associated with the event in one convenient location.
Starting a Project
Before delving into the deep secrets of projects, it helps to have some experience creating your own. There’s no doubt that the easiest way to create a project is with the New Project Wizard. Here’s how:
From the Entourage toolbar, select New menu button → Project.
The New Project Wizard appears. Fill in the blanks as shown in Figure 11-23, and then click the right arrow button.
On the next screen you can set your project’s watch folder location and import items. In other words, you tell Entourage where to keep the documents you’re going to use for this project and which existing items (if any) to keep with this project from now on.
If you choose to automatically create a project watch folder, Entourage creates a folder that matches your project’s name. But maybe you’ve already accumulated some files on your Mac.
