Options for Creating a New Word Document

When you start Word, the Start screen opens. This screen lists recently opened documents under a Recent heading. If this is the first time you have started Word, a message stating that you haven’t opened any documents recently will reside where the list of recently opened files would normally be. You also have the option to open saved documents not listed under Recent by clicking the Open Other Documents option. The Start screen also provides access to a library of Word document templates. See Figure 6.3, which shows the start screen.
