Cancer in the eye can be primary or secondary (metastatic) from another source in the body. The most common primary tumors are pigmentary, and they can be found in the uveal or melanin containing structures, namely the choroid, iris and ciliary body. Other tumor types include retinoblastoma, which is derived from retinal cells and found in children. There are more rare forms of intraocular cancer, and some are often associated with other systemic diseases.
