1. Setting Up OS X Mountain Lion
Before you can use OS X Mountain Lion, you must install it on your computer and configure it to work the way you need it to. These are two separate steps and you may not need to do both.
• If you purchased a new computer with OS X Mountain Lion already installed, you won’t need to install it, so you can skip the first half of this chapter. When you start your computer for the first time, it’ll open the Setup Assistant to step you through the process of configuring your computer. This is discussed in the second half of this chapter.
