16. Other OS X Applications
In addition to the applications discussed in detail in various places throughout this book, OS X includes a variety of more basic applications that you can use to perform tasks on your computer.
This chapter provides instructions for getting started with applications you can find in the Applications folder on your hard disk. Among these, you’ll find applications for performing calculations, working with images and PDF files, looking up words, taking notes, and even challenging your computer to a nice game of chess.
