26. OS X Utility Applications

OS X includes utility applications that you can use to work with your computer and its files.

This chapter provides instructions for getting started with a number of utilities, most of which you find in the Utilities folder inside the Applications folder on your hard disk. Among these, you’ll find applications for monitoring system activity, installing Windows on your Mac, entering Unix commands using a command-line interface, creating screen shots, and automating repetitive tasks.
