In diesem Buch ist der Begriff »Exploit« bereits einige Male gefallen. Da das Verständnis für Schwachstellen und Exploits maßgeblich für die Anwendung von Metasploit ist, möchte ich der Definition von Schwachstellen und Exploits an dieser Stelle ein dediziertes Kapitel widmen.
Wie bereits in Kapitel 1 kurz erwähnt, nennt man das Programm, das es ermöglicht, eine Schwachstelle auszunutzen, »Exploit«.
Bei dem Begriff handelt es sich einfach um die englische Übersetzung des Verbs ausnutzen.
Um die verschiedenen Arten von Exploits besser zu verstehen, sollte man erst einmal versuchen, Schwachstellen zu verstehen.
