I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 1. Hooked on Classics: The Absolutely Essential Classic Effects
If you’ve read any of my previous books (War and Peace, Moby Dick, Tale of Two Cities, The South Beach Diet), you already know two things: (1) I name each chapter after a song title, a TV show, or a movie title and the subhead below it explains what the chapter is really about. For example, this chapter, “Hooked on Classics,” is named after a 1987 rock remake of a classical piece by Mason Williams and Mannheim Steamroller. My 7-year-old son Jordan lobbied pretty hard for me to name this chapter “Classical Gas” instead, which, for some reason, he thinks is just about the funniest ...
