So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Photoshop CS
Aligning layers in Photoshop is easy. Just link the layers you want
to align, then switch to the Move tool. In the Options Bar, you’ll
see icons for aligning horizontally, vertically, and to the left, right,
and center, plus icons for equally distributing the spacing of your
layered objects.
When you apply a Layer Style to a layer,
you’ve done just that—applied a Style to
a layer, and that Style is married to that
layer. However, if you’d like to edit your
effect separately from the layer, you can
ask Photoshop to take the Layer Style
and put it on its own separate layer (or
layers if necessary). ...
