This chapter builds on the previous one by extending the Pos_XmlExporter class to create an RSS feed. There are several RSS formats, but the one I have chosen is RSS 2.0 (www.rssboard.org/rss-specification). As the specification says, RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, it's a dialect of XML, and it's a format for Web content syndication. The Pos_XmlExporter class does a good job of generating XML from a database, but the content and node names are entirely dependent on the SQL query submitted by the user, making it too generic for RSS.
