Challenge: Express identity with color and form
Materials: Color-aid paper; gouache paint on watercolor paper
If you were to identify yourself as a citizen of a country, what colors
and forms would you use to express your identity? And what if
that message needed to be delivered in a composition the size of a
postage stamp? The goal in this experiment is to do exactly that:
Design a postage stamp that is an expression of citizenship.
In the context of this color experiment, citizenship is conceptual. It
extends beyond common legal definitions to your associations with any
country—your own or any other—in which you have a personal interest.
The primary consideration is size. A postage stamp is a miniature
