2. Pressure Measurement: Various Measuring Points and Range Selection

Initial introduction of pressure measurements are already incorporated in Clause 1 and Chapter I, Clauses 3.1 and 3.2. Various measuring points in the power plant (typical value of a 250 MW plant) are given in Table IV/2-1 along with the operating/maximum continuous rating (MCR) value and instrument ranges. Normally the calibrated ranges are selected so that the operating or MCR value is ∼67 % of the full range. But there may be some cases where the operating or MCR value is closer to the calibrated range, for example, the control range of an instrument.
