3. Temperature Measurement: Various Measuring Points and Range Selection
Initial introduction of temperature measurements are already mentioned in Chapter I, Clauses 3.1 and 3.2, and Clauses 1.2, 1.4, and 1.5 of this chapter. Various measuring points in the power plant (typical value of a 250 MW plant) are given in chart form (see Table IV/3-1) along with operating/ MCR values and instrument ranges. Normally the calibrated ranges are selected so that the operating or MCR value is ∼67% (but normally not beyond 75%) of the full range. There may be some cases where the operating or MCR value is closer to the calibrated range.
