The Future

It’s time to wrap up the notes that I’ve gathered over the last ten years. For now, I’ve also finished with my advice and tips explaining experiences that I gained when designing the NetBeans APIs. That doesn’t mean this topic is fully explored and there is nothing more to say. This is no definitive guide—I could continue to write for the next few months or years. However, that would just prevent this book from getting into the hands of its readers. Everyone I’ve talked to tells me a book such as this is needed, so I want to get it out now. But before I conclude, let me say a few last words about the future of API design
