MicroProfile 4.1 builds on some Jakarta EE (formerly Java Enterprise Edition) application programming interfaces (APIs)—specifically, Jakarta RESTful Web Services (JAX-RS), Jakarta Contexts and Dependency Injection (CDI), JavaScript Object Notation Processing (JSON-P), and JSON Binding (JSON-B).
