Some manufacturers add features to their locks that are designed to make them more resistant to picking attacks. The degree to which these companies are successful in this effort depends largely on how much money they are willing to spend on design, manufacturing, and assembly. A number of interesting modifications to the components of a lock can make it “pick resistant,” sometimes significantly so.
