PUBLIC Privileges

Introduction

Oracle databases come built in with an interesting entity called PUBLIC. PUBLIC is neither a Role nor a User, although in many ways it is managed like both. Every user in the database is a member of PUBLIC by default, and there is nothing that can be done to change that. PUBLIC is a permanent fixture in Oracle, it cannot be removed by any means.
