12.1 Cables

Cables and raceways are installed in all the plant areas, indoors, and outdoors at all voltage levels. The plant cable and raceway systems are of design and capability to carry electrical power and data throughout the plant under all the plant operating conditions. Power cables are laid out with spacing and configuration to minimize the effects of overheating, cable induction, voltage drops, and to insure balanced loading on all phases (see Figure 12.1).
