I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Minimizing the Cost of Credential Loss
Credentials such as keys and passwords, by their nature, are extremely valuable to attackers and difficult to work with securely. Of course we do our best to keep them safe, but what if we fail? Is there anything we can do to soften the blow?
Consider this serious-looking equation:
Cost of Lost Credential == Likelihood of Loss x Value of Lost Credential
The rest of this book addresses the first term—lowering the likelihood of a successful attack. That’s good; that’s where we should focus most of our efforts. But we should prepare for the worst.
