Building a Marker-Based AR Application with OpenGL ES
In Chapter 9, we learned about a few different SDKs that are available for iOS developers building augmented reality applications. In this chapter, we'll start with one of those SDKs, the String SDK for iOS, and build a marker-based augmented reality application.
Augmented reality markers are physical identifiers that instruct the application on how to orient and scale in response to the physical world. For example, in Chapter 1, I showed a sample of how the United States Postal Service uses markers to orient and scale a shipping container. You can do the same in your applications.
