Welcome to the Central Administration Web Site
If you have read this entire chapter so far, rather than jumping directly to this section, you will already have seen references to the SharePoint Central Administration web site, or Central Admin for short. In the earlier section I glossed over the use of Central Admin, so now I'll take you on a larger tour.
Simply put, the Central Administration web site is the user graphical user interface to management of the SharePoint 2010 platform and its configuration. Figure 2-22 shows the opening Central Admin home page, familiar to any administrator who has installed SharePoint 2010 and ready to use the platform for purpose.
