Installing the C Programming Environment

A.1 INTRODUCTION TO CODE::BLOCKS

This book utilises the open-source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) known as Code::Blocks, which is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPLv3). The GPLv3 is a free software license that guarantees end users the freedom to run, use, share, and modify the software. Code::Blocks is a cross-platform IDE that runs on Linux, Windows, and macOS. It supports multiple compilers, including GCC (MinGW/GNU GCC), MSVC++, Clang, Digital Mars, Borland C++ 5.5, Open Watcom, and others.
