I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

In the spring of 2023, when I told my dad how cool Azure OpenAI was becoming, his reply was kind of a shock: “Why don’t you write a book about it?” He said it so naturally that it hit me as if he really thought I could do it. In fact, he added, “Are you up for it?” Then there was no need to say more. Loretta Yates at Microsoft Press enthusiastically accepted my proposal, and the story of this book began in June 2023.
AI has been a hot topic for the better part of a decade, but the emergence of new-generation large language models (LLMs) has propelled it into the mainstream.
