Components of the Analysis Process

The term “analysis” evokes the image of the expert sitting at a desk with pencil and paper making calculations. This image could apply to some aspects of strategic analysis. In reality, however, in the context of strategy development, the term “analysis” is not really one thing—but many things. Analysis is a construct consisting of multiple steps—many of which are sufficiently substantial that they may be managed as subprojects.
