8.1 HTTPの基本
ウェブはHTTP（HyperText Transfer Protocol）上で動作します。このプロトコル（protocol）は、ウェブブラウザがウェブサーバーにどのようにしてファイルを要求するかや、要求されたファイルをサーバーがどのようにして送り返すかを定めた規約です。本章で取り上げるさまざまなテクニックを理解するには、HTTPの基本的な理解が必要になります。
ウェブブラウザは、ウェブページを要求（リクエスト）するとき、ウェブサーバーにHTTPリクエストメッセージを送信します。このリクエストメッセージには常にヘッダ情報が含まれ、本文が含まれることもあります。ウェブサーバーはリクエストに対する応答（レスポンス）を返します。これにもヘッダ情報が常に含まれ、通常は本文も含まれます。HTTPリクエストの最初の行は、次のようなものです。
