It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Most of the material presented is based on Python’s online documentation. However, a number of significant changes have been made:
In some cases, the documentation has been condensed to fit in a more compact format. This has been done to streamline the discussion and make the book more “portable.”
In certain cases, the documentation has been greatly expanded. For instance, coverage of operating systems and network-related modules includes additional information drawn from standards documents and systems programming texts.
