Remove Ransomware Infection Without Paying the Ransom

As mentioned in the previous chapter, if you don’t have a backup, if your computer gets infected with ransomware, you have three options to select from.
  • Remove the infection with a decryptor and try to decrypt the infected data.

  • Do nothing. Wipe the infected machine’s software and install a clean OS and applications.

  • Pay the ransom.

Paying a ransom is not a recommended option and is not guaranteed to restore your data (according to Bleepingcomputer.com, half of ransomware victims do not recover their infected data after paying the ransom ...
