Adobe Illustrator has many different settings, or preferences, that control the program’s behavior. There are actually nine different panels of preferences in Illustrator CS2. On Mac OS, you’ll find the Preferences dialog by choosing Preferences from the Application menu or by pressing Command-K. On Windows, you’ll find the Preferences dialog by choosing Preferences from the Edit menu or by pressing Control-K.
The General panel of Preferences is pretty much a melting pot of settings (Figure C.1). These settings are also the ones that alter the behavior of features the most.
