7.1.1 Phase-Aligning Multiple Mics

First of all, I'd like to explore ‘coincident’ multimiking techniques, where microphones are set up with their diaphragms as close to each other as possible, the idea being that the sound from the instrument arrives at all the diaphragms simultaneously, and all the recorded signals therefore remain in phase with each other.
