I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Exploring middleware
Middleware is some code that we can use between the framework that is receiving a request, and the framework that is generating a response. Generally, middleware presents a third-party extension point in dispatching an action, and the moment it reaches the reducer. We covered the concepts of actions and reducers in Chapter 1, Understanding Redux. Do you remember it? Developers apply the Redux middleware for logging, communicating with an asynchronous API, crash reporting, language translation, handling side effects, and routing.
We will continue with the code base we have in Chapter 5, React with Redux, and add more functionalities on top of it. In this chapter, we are going to extend the store with some middleware.
