Chapter 10. Creating Test Cases from Supplementary Requirements

The preceding chapter introduced a method that can be applied to any use case to derive test cases. This chapter discusses deriving a test case from supplementary requirements (see Figure 10.1). With supplementary requirements, however, there is no unified approach, because various requirements are different in nature, and testing them requires quite different methods. This chapter presents the following methods of creating test cases:

• Executing selected test cases in different environments

• Adding an additional check to all use cases

• Checking and modifying specific use cases

• Performing the exercise

• Checklist

• Analysis

• White-box testing
