Thus far, Chapters 4 and 5 have discussed important system design parameters and analysis pertinent to sensitivity and system linearity. It was shown how a system noise figure and second and third order input intercept points are dependent on the linearity, noise figure, and gain of the individual blocks. Analysis and design tools were provided to evaluate the performance. This chapter presents a continuation of the previous two chapters. In Section 6.1, we discuss the selectivity of the receiver that is its ability to reject unwanted signals such as blocker and other types of interferers.
