I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Scaling BGP Functions
In addition to controlling complex BGP configurations, as discussed in the previous section, there must also be ways to scale and tune the BGP process running on an individual router. BGP is tasked with handling huge numbers of routes—far beyond the capabilities of OSPF or IS-IS—and to handle complex routing policies attached to those routes. Therefore, you need to ensure that a BGP process on a given router is well balanced to perform as well as it can without consuming all the available processing and memory resources on the router.
