Earlier chapters described how RTP running over UDP/IP provides an unreliable packet delivery service, and how this means an application may have to deal with an incomplete media stream. There are two things the application can do when packet loss occurs: try to correct the error, or try to conceal it. Error correction is discussed in Chapter 9.
