Mobile phones are everywhere, and Google Voice fully supports them. This lesson explains the special concerns of using Google Voice with mobile phones.

Getting Calls on a Mobile Phone

As you saw in Lesson 2, “Signing Up and Getting Started,” when you set up Google Voice, you designate the phones you’ll be using. There are two choices when you sign up:

• Get a new Google Voice number

• Use an existing number

If you set up Google Voice to use an existing number, that number must be a mobile phone number—and that mobile phone is the only phone you can use with your Google Voice account.
