Lesson 9. Connecting to Other Windows Computers

Viewing Computers Running Older Versions of Windows

When you connect your Windows 7 computer to a network that also has PCs running older versions of Windows, it might be necessary to make changes to the settings on some computers so that they can see each other to share folders and printers. Windows 7’s Network folder is used to display all the computers visible on the network. Here’s how to open it:

1. Click Start.

2. Click Computer.

3. Scroll down and click Network.

4. The computers that are visible and connected are listed in the right pane (see Figure 9.1).
