It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the code behind web pages. Using HTML, you place text, graphics, JavaScript, Java and other active content, and hyperlinks throughout web pages to give those pages the look you desire.
