Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is the code behind web pages. Using HTML, you place text, graphics, JavaScript, Java and other active content, and hyperlinks throughout web pages to give those pages the look you desire. Unlike traditional programming languages (but like JavaScript), HTML is interpreted as a web page loads. A web page, formatted with HTML code, goes across the Internet to any user who requests it.
