BW uses the same R/3 Basis 3-tier architecture. In this overview, we introduce basic concepts of SAP Basis 3-tier architecture, such as work processes and memory management.
SAP Basis 3-Tier Architecture
The SAP Basis 3-tier architecture consists of presentation front ends, application servers, and a database server, as shown in Figure B.1.
