Chapter 14. Object Transport

BW uses the same architecture, tools, and programs to transport objects as R/3 does. The following high-level SAP procedure explains how you transport objects from the development system to other systems (Figure 14.1):

  1. Develop and test objects in the development system. When the objects are ready for extensive and pre-production testing, export and save them in a common transport directory in the operating system.

  2. Import the objects into the quality assurance system and conduct pre-production testing.
