It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Data has become the foundation on which organizations build products, serve customers, and make decisions. As data volumes and sources keep growing, the hard part has shifted from collecting data to integrating it: bringing data from dozens of systems together, keeping it clean and trustworthy, and making it available to everyone who needs it, at a cost that makes sense.
AWS Glue tackles this problem in a serverless fashion. It combines a serverless Apache Spark runtime for ETL, a central Data Catalog for metadata, and deep integration with services such as Amazon S3, Amazon Athena, Amazon Redshift, and AWS Lake Formation.
