Workshop 5.1: Updating a Project Document
In this workshop, you will utilize SharePoint document management features for updating a project document for the case study project. You may have already practiced some of these steps in the overview sections of this chapter.
For fields and settings that aren’t mentioned in the workshop steps, accept the default settings.
Part 1: Requiring Check-Out
From your SharePoint PMIS, access the Project Documents document library (Figure 5-8).

In the Library Tools, Library ribbon, click the Library Settings button (Figure 5-9).

The Document Library Settings page will be displayed (Figure 5-10). In the General Settings section, click “Versioning settings”.

Select Yes for Require Check Out (Figure 5-11).
Click OK.

Part 2: Checking Out and Editing a Document from the Document Library
Now that you have required check-out in your document library, let’s test this feature and edit a document.
